The little wooden pieces arrived wrapped in tissue, and I was surprised how sturdy they feel for their size. You can tell real care went into the carving, and they look lovely on the shelf without being too kitschy.

The craftsmanship is stunning; each piece fits perfectly into our existing holiday collection without feeling out of place. My kids have already started rearranging the tiny figurines on the mantelpiece.

The little woodsmoke scent when I opened the box caught me off guard, in a good way. You can feel the knife marks on the figures if you run a thumb over them, and the paint is slightly uneven in spots, which somehow makes it feel more real than the machine-cut stuff at the big stores.
