Neck Vase in Wire-Combed Opal Pacific / Buckwheat / Brick

Neck Vase in Wire-Combed Opal Pacific / Buckwheat / Brick - Main image
$161.7 $245 In stock

The Neck Vase features a precise transition partway down the profile creating not only a distinctive form but an opportunity to showcase our love of glaze and its many beautiful and unexpected combinations. To create this Clay Studio-exclusive glaze technique, three glazes are layered on the bowl's surface, then a wire comb is gently dragged through them to reveal thin lines of color underneath. The resulting pattern on each piece is unique. The Neck Vase has become a favorite of Clay Studio Director Tung Chiang.

I love how the transition in the profile catches different light as you rotate it—the glaze really shifts from opal to warm brick tones. It’s already my favorite vase for a single stem on the windowsill.

I love how the transition line on the vase creates two distinct visual zones—the combed opal texture on top gives way to a warm, earthy base. It looks stunning on my shelf catching the afternoon light, and the glaze really does shift in unexpected ways depending on the angle. Definitely a unique pie

The glaze colors shift beautifully from the opal base down through the brick, catching light in a way that changes every hour. I love how the combed wire texture feels under my fingers, adding just enough tactile interest to the smooth ceramic. It's a quiet statement piece that makes my table feel c
